The Boy Who Slept with Bears wins Silver Medallion by Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards

The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards celebrating youthful curiosity, discovery and learning through books and reading, has awarded its 2013 silver medallion for excellence in Pre-Teen Historical and Cultural Fiction to:

There were more than 1200 entries from around the world. A total of 165 medals were awarded, to entrants from thirty-five US states, five Canadian Provinces and seven overseas countries. The winners came from long established publishers, small presses, Universities, foundations and self-published entrepreneurs, all of whom are dedicated to promoting childhood literacy.
“The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards are intended to bring increased recognition to exemplary children’s books and their creators, and to support childhood literacy and life-long reading. The Awards recognize and reward the best of these books and bring them to the attention of parents, booksellers, librarians – and to children themselves.”
